South Island Forklifts is proudly New Zealand owned and operated, and has been looking after our hundreds of customers throughout New Zealand for 25 years.
Our History
We are a small team with big company goals.
We started small; small building in Parkhouse Road, small fleet of rental forklifts, and equally small team. That same original team, helmed by Roy Howell and John Baird, are still a key part of the company and have helped to grow South Island Forklifts into what it is today.
From day one in 1999, we have sold TCM and Jungheinrich products, adding UniCarriers in 2016 to our product range, as forklifts continue to be our sole business. In 2018 we added our Timaru branch so we could service more of the South Island, while last year our Christchurch head office moved to larger premises.
We work with some of New Zealand’s best companies, servicing smaller companies and some big names, always offering an easy approach to business.

Our service doesn’t stop with your new forklift. We will look after you and your forklift with genuine and aftermarket parts and service, customised fleet management and optimisation, we can even help you to finance your forklift.
